The process of freeze drying removes water from a perishable material in order to preserve it, extending its shelf life for years. The product is placed into a chamber and frozen at extreme temperatures before the moisture is removed from it by by a vacuum. Some differences between dehydration and freeze drying is that dehydrating removes moisture with heat, which can change the nutritional value of the ingredients within the product. Dehydrated products also contain more moisture in the end product and therefore have a shorter shelf life. Please ensure you are resealing your bags for optimal freshness and use within a month once opening!
